3.20pm - More troops are deployed on Rajaprarob as people are asked to leave the area immediately as the troops launch their attempt to re-claim the area.
"People who have no business here should leave now. We do not guarantee your safety because terrorists have infiltrated with innocent people. We have to protect ourselves."
Snipers are deployed on pedestrian bridges to provide protection for soldiers.
3.16pm - Democrat Party's executive Sathit Pitutecha calls for authorities to find assailant who shot Maj Gen Khattiya Sawasdipol as soon as possible.
He says if the assailant could not be found, life of PM Abhisit Vejjajiva is also in danger.
3pm - Pantip, a popular webboard, has closed its political page; Rajadamnoen, saying it does not want to be an element that causes more division in the country under the current political violence.
It says it once believed that a public forum like Rajadamnoen would help heal the division, but now the situation turns worse.
The suspension of Rajdamnoen will continue until the situation is better.
2:40 pm: Troops fired at a pedestrian flyover in front of the Bon Kai community near the Rama IV expressway.
Troops fired at the flyover to warn the red-shirt protesters from going up the bridge for fear that they would use the bridge as a position to fire at troop.
Protesters continued to burn tyres in the area.
Sounds of gunfire, firecrackers and explosions were heard continually as a helicopter flew over Bon Kai and Saladaeng Intersection.
11:40 am: 2 explosions and sounds of gunfire were heard in front of Ua-Chuliang Building near Saladaeng Intersection.
11am - Center for Resolution of Emergency Resolution (CRES)'s spokesman Col Sansern Kaewkamnerd said the army would so far not reinforce their troops.
10.50am - PM's Office Minister Sathit Wongnongtoey reiterates that the government and the army have no choice but to crackdown on red shirts protesters as they are armed and well-trained.
He called for the protesters at Rajprasong rally site to abandon the protest. He blamed ex-PM Thaksin Shinawatra for being behind the protests which were organised purely for his own benefits.
10.30am - Three or four residents of Bon Kai community near Lumpini Boxing Stadium are shot and injured by unidentified snipers Saturday morning, TNN television reported.
The station said the snipers might be hiding on a deserted building on the side of the boxing stadium.
The residents were shot at their chest and were rushed to a hospital.
9.20am - Another gunfight erupts on Rajprarop Road, causing a Coke transport worker to be injured in a crossfire. The gunfire lasted about 10 minutes.
Matichon Online says some injured people remain at the bunker of the troops.

7.30am - At Saladaeng, tensions rise after clashes between troops and protesters on Friday night. Troops could be seen everywhere.
7.25am - red shirts protesters burn two public telephone booths and a police booth near Thai-Belgium Bridge.
7.20am - Driver of a van who tries to break barricades is injured after troops fired at his van's tyres. He is reportedly on his way to deliver food and necessities at Rajprasong rally site.
6.30am - UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon expresses concerns on the violence in Thailand. He asks all parties concerned to talk.
6am - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's Emergency Health Centre revived the death toll of Friday's clashes between troops and protesters to 16.
157 people were reported to be injured so far.
